A special thanks to everyone who has given us new ideas, new references and support.

Videos from exhibition:

If you are interested in redoing the same system we are providing you with the pd patch below. To have the same set you see on the video of "Goggle point of view" you will also need a small analog camera, video goggles, midi controller and a USB video capture device.

What is Artificial Stupidity ?

Artificial Stupidity is a project loosely defined on multiple levels. We have chosen a flexible context in which we are considering a variety of subjects, such as humans, art and interaction. The pieces and events in the exhibition are presented for the purpose of inviting visitors to collaborate.

We are defining experience itself as the most valuable output of this research, and we are not directly referencing to any other described experiences created by similar projects. We are taking into consideration what has been done as ideas of our future experiments.

Artificial Stupidity research is not aiming for products but experiences, therefore it is not that easy to frame a part of the work and put it in an exhibition. The research is branched by many collaborations at levels of usage or discussion. We do not prefer the term of user and we are not interested in user participation which is passive, thus we try to encourage anyone getting involved to contribute to the research and create new experiments.

It is not easy to document an experience, and also we do not reference to other experiences, so that we are trying to create a try-it-yourself --> create-it-yourself method.

Project structure

Selecting a human as a starting point rather than an object, keeps as safe from the discussions of definition of intelligence (just for a while) so that we can have some empty space to create our experiments freely and might gather new questions which will be fed back to the same old discussion.
